Advancing Social Justice may mean different things to different people. Supporting as many school-age-going children in underserved communities to overcome barriers that limit their abilities to defend their right to quality education is part of how we define social justice.
To this end, we tackle in-school food insecurity by providing a nutritious meal in a place of learning for every child, in the communities we serve. We are honored to share that our school feeding intervention has received a funding boost to further its impact in two of our partner schools! The funds donated will see two school kitchens upgraded and 8 energy-saving stoves installed – for efficient meals preparations.
Without adequate kitchen infrastructure, it is impossible to sustain our unique school feeding program. A huge thank you to Rotarian Michael at RC of Dalkeith – Australia, for making this happen together with the leadership team at RC of Canberra, Australia – especially our Rtn friends Desmond, Paul, Micheal Moore, and Ps. Sandra. We are also grateful to the Rotary Club of Dalkeith for assisting us to keep our promise of that one cup of porridge daily, to a hungry child that would otherwise miss out on school.
